Primary Prevention for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action Learn online with the Alliance!

What will you learn?

The Primary Prevention Framework for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action was released by the Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action in 2021. The L&D Working Group of the Alliance would like to offer you a free, online learning opportunity to further explore the framework to strengthen overall understanding of primary prevention in child protection in humanitarian action. The course will provide an introduction to prevention programming, and will allow you to reflect on how the Primary Prevention Framework for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is relevant to your context.

What will you achieve?

By the end of the online course, you will be able to:

  1. Define prevention in child protection in humanitarian action 
  2. Discuss the eight guiding principles for CPHA prevention programming 
  3. Explain the five steps of prevention programming and give examples of how these may be applicable in own context 
  4. Describe opportunities and challenges associated with prevention programming in child protection in humanitarian action.

The sessions will be delivered remotely via Zoom and will comprise presentations, group works and individual activities. Upon completion of the learning sessions you will be awarded a certificate and also be invited to join follow up group activities. 

Who is this course for?

Child protection in humanitarian action and child protection in development settings professionals from Governments, UN agencies, International Non-Governmental Organisations, Local Non-Governmental Organisations, Civil Society Organisations etc., are invited to express their interest for this course. 

How to register?

We have limited slots available and we will prioritise applications that are submitted for a team of 2 to 3 people within the same organisation, agency or body, to support the implementation of learning by teams and organisations following the sessions. The course is entirely free. To register please complete this short form with your contact details and motivational statement by May 30th, 2022. If you are participating with a team please make sure you specify this and the contact details of the other participants. Local and Civil Society Non-Governmental Organizations are encouraged to apply!
