The CP AoR has observer status with The Alliance.
The Child Protection Area of Responsibility (CP AoR) is specifically focused on enhancing child protection coordination and response in humanitarian contexts (as defined as Humanitarian Coordinator and Early Warning contexts). We support field child protection coordination groups and our international, national and local members, ensuring that efforts to protect children are well coordinated and achieve maximum quality and impact.
Vision: A world in which children in emergencies are protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence.
Mission: The efforts of national and international humanitarian actors to protect children in humanitarian settings are well coordinated.
Outcome: Child protection responses in humanitarian contexts (as defined as Humanitarian Coordinator and Early Warning contexts) are effectively led and coordinated to achieve maximum coverage and quality.
The members of the CP AoR are humanitarian organisations who are interested in improving coordinated responses for child protection in cluster and early warning contexts. This also includes national and local entities that are members of field-based child protection coordination groups in cluster and early warning settings. The CP AoR has evolved in an inclusive spirit since its inception in 2007.
