Since 1949, SOS Children's Villages has cared for children who have lost parental care or who risk losing it, and has worked to defend the rights of all children. We specialise in caring for children and strengthening families and work with community partners to ensure that children have access to all the things they need to grow, including health care and education.
Our comprehensive approach encompasses prevention, long-term care for children in need, and empowering young people with the resources to reach their full potential. In addition, our advocacy work at the local, national, and international levels focuses on ensuring that children’s rights and needs are considered in policy making while promoting youth participation decision making.
We give a voice to children and young people, helping them to engage directly with governments and international organisations, and we advocate side by side with them to advance children's rights.
